Warning: If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments?

Meet Jack.

Jack isn't his name.

Jack is (played by Edward Norton, and his images are used) smart, quiet, and dull in his cookie-cutter apartment and his cutter-cutter manner and his cookie-cutter existence. He is the product of everything he has ever read in a book (or catalog) and everything he has ever watched on television. He works as a Product Recall Specialist for an anonymous car company, responsible for organizing product recalls of defective models only if the corresponding cost-benefit analysis indicates that the recall-cost is less than the cost of out-of-court settlements paid to the relatives of the killed.

In his line of work he sees the remains of horrible things.

He doesn't care.

He just wants to be able to sleep . . .

Meet Tyler.

Tyler's been here since the beginning.

Tyler (played by Brad Pitt, and his imaged will be used) is the fabrication of Jack's subconscious self. When you burn all of the self-help books, rip up the pages of every Ikea and Pottery Barn catalog and shit on the sizzling remains of your broken television set you will have Tyler. Tyler believes that only by destroying yourself, can you reach a true understanding. That only by losing everything, are you free to do anything.

Tyler hates advertising, conformity, and self-improvement.

Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all who claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think everything you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told you should want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned ...
